Basketball à Hanoï

 

Les réseaux sociaux apportent peu de satisfaction à l'artiste. Les ouvres y sont dénaturées, miniaturisées. : c'est de la photogénie sans âme.  Ca me rappelle cette galeriste dans mon atelier qui m'a dit avec beaucoup de conviction : " Votre travail est vraiment intéressant mais pas du tout photogénique ( elle regardait sur son ipad ), les collectionneurs ne vont pas aimer..."
Par la suite, je fis une expo dans mon village pour laquelle personne ne se déplaça. Cela pose la question de l'emplacement des oeuvres : hors de Paris, cela devient très difficile, peu crédible. C'est l'urinoir de Duchamp quoi !
Parfois je suis tentée " d'arranger " les contrastes et couleurs du tableau pour mieux passer en ligne, puis finalement me rétracte car ce qui coimpte vraiment pour moi c'est ma réalité !

Social media brings little satisfaction to the artist. The works are distorted, miniaturized: it's soulless photogenicity. It reminds me of that gallery owner in my studio who told me, with great conviction, "Your work is really interesting but not at all photogenic (she was looking at it on her iPad), collectors aren't going to like it..." Later, I had an exhibition in my village, but nobody came. This raises the question of where to display the artwork: outside of Paris, it becomes very difficult, hardly credible. It's like Duchamp's urinal!

Sometimes I'm tempted to "adjust" the contrasts and colors of the painting to make it better for online viewing, but then I change my mind because what really matters to me is my own reality!
